'Ancestors' in the Bible

Our ancestors trusted you; they trusted and you delivered them.

Hear my prayer, O Yahweh, and listen [to] my cry for help; do not be deaf to my tears. For I [am] an alien with you, a sojourner like all my ancestors.

O God, we have heard with our ears; our ancestors have told us of work you worked in their days, in days of old.

that we have heard and known, and our ancestors have told us.

For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach to their children,

and not be like their ancestors, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation [that] did not make ready its heart, whose spirit was not faithful [to] God.

In front of their ancestors he did a wonder, in the land of Egypt, [in] the region of Zoan.

And they turned and were treacherous like their ancestors. They twisted like a crooked bow.

Let the iniquity of his ancestors be remembered before Yahweh, and let the sin of his mother not be blotted out.
