'Approved' in the Bible
Now Saul heartily approved of putting Stephen to death. That day a severe persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and everyone except for the apostles was scattered throughout the countryside of Judea and Samaria.
God, who knows everyone's heart, showed them he approved by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us.
For the person who serves the Messiah in this way is pleasing to God and approved by people.
Greet Apelles, who has been approved by the Messiah. Greet those who belong to the family of Aristobulus.
It is not the person who commends himself who is approved, but the person whom the Lord commends.
Rather, because we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, we speak as we do, not trying to please people but God, who tests our motives.
Do your best to present yourself to God as an approved worker who has nothing to be ashamed of, handling the word of truth with precision.
