'Bind' in the Bible
Surely I would wear it proudly on my shoulder, I would bind it on me like a crown;
Can you bind the wild ox to a furrow with its rope, will it till the valleys, following after you?
They bind their kings in chains, and their nobles in iron shackles,
Do not let truth and mercy leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
Bind them on your heart continually; fasten them around your neck.
Bind them on your forearm; write them on the tablet of your heart.
They will ask the way to Zion; they will turn their faces toward it. They will come and bind themselves to the Lord in a lasting covenant that will never be forgotten.
Groan in silence for the dead, but do not perform mourning rites. Bind on your turban and put your sandals on your feet. Do not cover your lip and do not eat food brought by others."
Linen turbans will be on their heads and linen undergarments will be around their waists; they must not bind themselves with anything that causes sweat.
When I please, I will discipline them; I will gather nations together to attack them, to bind them in chains for their two sins.
