'Called' in the Bible

Immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

Now Jesus went up the mountain and called for those he wanted, and they came to him.

So he called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan cast out Satan?

Jesus called the twelve and began to send them out two by two. He gave them authority over the unclean spirits.

Then he called the crowd again and said to them, "Listen to me, everyone, and understand.

Then he began to teach them and said, "Is it not written: 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'? But you have turned it into a den of robbers!"

He called his disciples and said to them, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the offering box than all the others.

Then they went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray."

So the soldiers led him into the palace (that is, the governor's residence) and called together the whole cohort.

They brought Jesus to a place called Golgotha (which is translated, "Place of the Skull").

Pilate was surprised that he was already dead. He called the centurion and asked him if he had been dead for some time.
