The day following he was minded to depart into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith to him, Follow me.
This he said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And having said this, he saith to him, Follow me.
Now the God of patience and consolation give you to think the same thing, according to Christ Jesus,
Now this I say, every one of you saith, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ.
He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me, and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me; And he that taketh not his cross and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man be willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.
And when he had called the people to him, with his disciples also, he said to them, Whosoever is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.
And he said to all, if any man be willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me.
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world, shall preserve it to life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me, and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honour.
He that findeth his life, shall lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake, shall find it. He that entertaineth you, entertaineth me;
For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life, for my sake and the gospels, he shall save it.

Then Jesus looking upon him, loved him, and said to him, One thing thou lackest: Go, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me, taking up thy cross.
Sell all that thou hast, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.
And which of you intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and computeth the cost, whether he hath sufficient to finish it? Lest haply after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold mock him, saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.read more.
Or what king marching to incounter another king in war, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand, to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? If not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an embassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So every one of you, who forsaketh not all that he hath, cannot be my disciple.
For even hereunto are ye called; for Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye might follow his steps:
And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but suffer me first to bid them farewell that are in my house.
And a great multitude followed him, because they had seen the miracles which he did on the diseased.
From this time many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him.
And straightway leaving their nets, they followed him. And having gone thence a little farther,

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me, shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Then said Jesus to the Jews who believed on him, If ye continue in my word, ye are my disciples indeed:
If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter,
Servants, obey your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as unto the Lord: Not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments, abideth in him, and he in him: and hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
These are they who had not been defiled with women; for they are virgins: these are they who follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were bought from among men: first-fruits to God and the Lamb.
