'Close' in the Bible

The Lord is near to the heartbrokenAnd He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin).

Draw also the spear and javelin to meet those who pursue me.Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”

Do not let the floodwater overwhelm me,Nor the deep waters swallow me up,Nor the pit [of Sheol] shut its mouth over me.

Draw near to my soul and redeem it;Ransom me because of my enemies [so that they do not delight in my distress].

I was afflicted and close to death from my youth on;I suffer Your terrors; I am overcome.
