'Contended' in the Bible

Measure by measure, in their exile you contended with them; with his fierce blast he removed them, as on a day when the east wind blows.

Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
