'Country' in the Bible

And being warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their own country by another route.

Wherever He would go, into villages, towns, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged Him that they might touch just the tassel of His robe. And everyone who touched it was made well.

Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.

The Jewish Passover was near, and many went up to Jerusalem from the country to purify themselves before the Passover.

and said to him:Get out of your countryand away from your relatives,and come to the landthat I will show you.

God spoke in this way:His descendants would be strangersin a foreign country,and they would enslaveand oppress them 400 years.
