A worthless person, a wicked mangoes around speaking dishonestly,

For a prostitute’s fee is only a loaf of bread,but an adulteress goes after a precious life.

The one who follows instruction is on the path to life,but the one who rejects correction goes astray.

The righteous one is rescued from trouble;in his place, the wicked one goes in.

A gossip goes around revealing a secret,but a trustworthy person keeps a confidence.

A gossip’s words are like choice foodthat goes down to one’s innermost being.

Drive out a mocker, and conflict goes too;then quarreling and dishonor will cease.

Don’t gaze at wine because it is red,when it gleams in the cupand goes down smoothly.

Like a flitting sparrow or a fluttering swallow,an undeserved curse goes nowhere.

Without wood, fire goes out;without a gossip, conflict dies down.
