'Heavens' in the Bible

For the choir director: on the Gittith. A Davidic psalm.Yahweh, our Lord,how magnificent is Your name throughout the earth!You have covered the heavens with Your majesty.

When I observe Your heavens,the work of Your fingers,the moon and the stars,which You set in place,

He parted the heavens and came down,a dark cloud beneath His feet.

Their message has gone out to all the earth,and their words to the ends of the world.In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun.

It rises from one end of the heavensand circles to their other end;nothing is hidden from its heat.

The heavens were made by the word of the Lord,and all the stars, by the breath of His mouth.

The heavens proclaim His righteousness,for God is the Judge.Selah

God, be exalted above the heavens;let Your glory be over the whole earth.

For Your faithful love is as high as the heavens;Your faithfulness reaches the clouds.

to Him who rides in the ancient, highest heavens.Look, He thunders with His powerful voice!

For I will declare,“Faithful love is built up forever;You establish Your faithfulness in the heavens.”

Lord, the heavens praise Your wonders—Your faithfulness also—in the assembly of the holy ones.

The heavens are Yours; the earth also is Yours.The world and everything in it—You founded them.

For all the gods of the peoples are idols,but the Lord made the heavens.

Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice;let the sea and all that fills it resound.

Long ago You established the earth,and the heavens are the work of Your hands.

who stoops down to lookon the heavens and the earth?

The heavens are the Lord’s,but the earth He has given to the human race.

He made the heavens skillfully.        His love is eternal.

Lord, part Your heavens and come down.Touch the mountains, and they will smoke.

Hallelujah!Praise the Lord from the heavens;praise Him in the heights.

Praise Him, highest heavens,and you waters above the heavens.

Hallelujah!Praise God in His sanctuary.Praise Him in His mighty heavens.
