'Houses' in the Bible
The Lord enters into judgment with the elders and princes of His people,“It is you who have devoured the vineyard; The plunder of the poor is in your houses.
In my ears the Lord of hosts has sworn, “Surely, many houses shall become desolate,Even great and fine ones, without occupants.
Then I said, “Lord, how long?” And He answered,“Until cities are devastated and without inhabitant,Houses are without peopleAnd the land is utterly desolate,
“Then He shall become a sanctuary; But to both the houses of Israel, a stone to strike and a rock to stumble over,And a snare and a trap for the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Their little ones also will be dashed to piecesBefore their eyes;Their houses will be plunderedAnd their wives ravished.
But desert creatures will lie down there,And their houses will be full of owls;Ostriches also will live there, and shaggy goats will frolic there.
Then you counted the houses of JerusalemAnd tore down houses to fortify the wall.
For the land of my people in which thorns and briars shall come up;Yea, for all the joyful houses and for the jubilant city.
“They will build houses and inhabit them; They will also plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
