'Joy' in the Bible
You will have great joy and delight, and many will rejoice over his birth,
For behold, when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.
Rejoice on that day and leap for joy, for your reward in heaven is great [absolutely inexhaustible]; for their fathers used to treat the prophets in the same way.
Those on the rocky soil are the people who, when they hear, receive and welcome the word with joy; but these have no firmly grounded root. They believe for a while, and in time of trial and temptation they fall away [from Me and abandon their faith].
The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”
I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents [that is, changes his inner self—his old way of thinking, regrets past sins, lives his life in a way that proves repentance; and seeks God’s purpose for his life].”
While they still did not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
And they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy [fully understanding that He lives and that He is the Son of God];
