'Mother' in the Bible

“Contend with your mother (nation); contend,For she is not my wife and I am not her husband;And have her remove her [marks of] prostitution from her faceAnd her adultery from between her breasts

“For their mother has played the prostitute;She who conceived them has acted shamefully,For she said, ‘I will pursue my loversWho give me my food and my water,My wool and my flax, my oil and my [refreshing] drinks.’

So you will stumble in the daytime,And the [false] prophet will also stumble with you in the night;And I will destroy your mother (Israel).

Therefore an uproar will arise among your people,And all your fortresses will be destroyed,As Shalman destroyed Beth-arbel on the day of battle,When mothers were dashed in pieces with their children.
