'Perpetual' in the Bible
Why has my pain been perpetualAnd my wound incurable, refusing to be healed?Will You indeed be to me like a deceptive streamWith water that is unreliable?
To make their land a desolation,An object of perpetual hissing;Everyone who passes by it will be astonishedAnd shake his head.
For I have sworn by Myself,” declares the Lord, “that Bozrah will become an object of horror, a reproach, a ruin and a curse; and all its cities will become perpetual ruins.”
“When they become heated up, I will serve them their banquetAnd make them drunk, that they may become jubilantAnd may sleep a perpetual sleepAnd not wake up,” declares the Lord.
“I will make her princes and her wise men drunk,Her governors, her prefects and her mighty men,That they may sleep a perpetual sleep and not wake up,”Declares the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts.
and say, ‘You, O Lord, have promised concerning this place to cut it off, so that there will be nothing dwelling in it, whether man or beast, but it will be a perpetual desolation.’
