'Everlasting' in the Bible

When the bow is in the cloud, then I will look upon it, to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”

I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.

I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

A servant who is born in your house or who is bought with your money shall surely be circumcised; thus shall My covenant be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

But God said, “No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.

and He said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful and numerous, and I will make you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your descendants after you for an everlasting possession.’

“The blessings of your fatherHave surpassed the blessings of my ancestorsUp to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills;May they be on the head of Joseph,And on the crown of the head of the one distinguished among his brothers.

Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before the Lord continually; it is an everlasting covenant for the sons of Israel.

All the offerings of the holy gifts, which the sons of Israel offer to the Lord, I have given to you and your sons and your daughters with you, as a perpetual allotment. It is an everlasting covenant of salt before the Lord to you and your descendants with you.”

“And with the best things of the ancient mountains,And with the choice things of the everlasting hills,

“The eternal God is a dwelling place,And underneath are the everlasting arms;And He drove out the enemy from before you,And said, ‘Destroy!’

“Truly is not my house so with God?For He has made an everlasting covenant with me,Ordered in all things, and secured;For all my salvation and all my desire,Will He not indeed make it grow?

He also confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,To Israel as an everlasting covenant,

O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,From everlasting even to everlasting.Then all the people said, “Amen,” and praised the Lord.

With them were Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the Lord, because His lovingkindness is everlasting.

in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the Lord saying, “He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,” then the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud,

All the sons of Israel, seeing the fire come down and the glory of the Lord upon the house, bowed down on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave praise to the Lord, saying, “Truly He is good, truly His lovingkindness is everlasting.”

The priests stood at their posts, and the Levites also, with the instruments of music to the Lord, which King David had made for giving praise to the Lord—“for His lovingkindness is everlasting”—whenever he gave praise by their means, while the priests on the other side blew trumpets; and all Israel was standing.

When he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who sang to the Lord and those who praised Him in holy attire, as they went out before the army and said, “Give thanks to the Lord, for His lovingkindness is everlasting.”

He drove His adversaries backward;He put on them an everlasting reproach.

Before the mountains were bornOr You gave birth to the earth and the world,Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

Your throne is established from of old;You are from everlasting.

But the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him,And His righteousness to children’s children,

Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,To Israel as an everlasting covenant,

Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness,And Your law is truth.

The sum of Your word is truth,And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting.

But He overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea,For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

To Him who led His people through the wilderness,For His lovingkindness is everlasting;

To Him who smote great kings,For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

And slew mighty kings,For His lovingkindness is everlasting:

Sihon, king of the Amorites,For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

And Og, king of Bashan,For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

And gave their land as a heritage,For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

Even a heritage to Israel His servant,For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

Who remembered us in our low estate,For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

And has rescued us from our adversaries,For His lovingkindness is everlasting;

Who gives food to all flesh,For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

Give thanks to the God of heaven,For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

The Lord will accomplish what concerns me;Your lovingkindness, O Lord, is everlasting;Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

And see if there be any hurtful way in me,And lead me in the everlasting way.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

“From everlasting I was established,From the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth.

When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more,But the righteous has an everlasting foundation.

The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant.

“Trust in the Lord forever,For in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.

And the ransomed of the Lord will returnAnd come with joyful shouting to Zion,With everlasting joy upon their heads.They will find gladness and joy,And sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Do you not know? Have you not heard?The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earthDoes not become weary or tired.His understanding is inscrutable.

Israel has been saved by the LordWith an everlasting salvation;You will not be put to shame or humiliatedTo all eternity.

So the ransomed of the Lord will returnAnd come with joyful shouting to Zion,And everlasting joy will be on their heads.They will obtain gladness and joy,And sorrow and sighing will flee away.

“In an outburst of angerI hid My face from you for a moment,But with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you,”Says the Lord your Redeemer.

“Incline your ear and come to Me.Listen, that you may live;And I will make an everlasting covenant with you,According to the faithful mercies shown to David.

“Instead of the thorn bush the cypress will come up,And instead of the nettle the myrtle will come up,And it will be a memorial to the Lord,For an everlasting sign which will not be cut off.”

To them I will give in My house and within My walls a memorial,And a name better than that of sons and daughters;I will give them an everlasting name which will not be cut off.

“Whereas you have been forsaken and hatedWith no one passing through,I will make you an everlasting pride,A joy from generation to generation.

“No longer will you have the sun for light by day,Nor for brightness will the moon give you light;But you will have the Lord for an everlasting light,And your God for your glory.

“Your sun will no longer set,Nor will your moon wane;For you will have the Lord for an everlasting light,And the days of your mourning will be over.

Instead of your shame you will have a double portion,And instead of humiliation they will shout for joy over their portion.Therefore they will possess a double portion in their land,Everlasting joy will be theirs.

For I, the Lord, love justice,I hate robbery in the burnt offering;And I will faithfully give them their recompenseAnd make an everlasting covenant with them.

Who caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses,Who divided the waters before them to make for Himself an everlasting name,

But the Lord is the true God;He is the living God and the everlasting King.At His wrath the earth quakes,And the nations cannot endure His indignation.

But the Lord is with me like a dread champion;Therefore my persecutors will stumble and not prevail.They will be utterly ashamed, because they have failed,With an everlasting disgrace that will not be forgotten.

I will put an everlasting reproach on you and an everlasting humiliation which will not be forgotten.”

behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these nations round about; and I will utterly destroy them and make them a horror and a hissing, and an everlasting desolation.

‘Then it will be when seventy years are completed I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,’ declares the Lord, ‘for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it an everlasting desolation.

The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying,“I have loved you with an everlasting love;Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.

I will make an everlasting covenant with them that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; and I will put the fear of Me in their hearts so that they will not turn away from Me.

the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who say,“Give thanks to the Lord of hosts,For the Lord is good,For His lovingkindness is everlasting”;and of those who bring a thank offering into the house of the Lord. For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were at first,’ says the Lord.

They will ask for the way to Zion, turning their faces in its direction; they will come that they may join themselves to the Lord in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.

“Nevertheless, I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.

‘Thus says the Lord God, “Because the Philistines have acted in revenge and have taken vengeance with scorn of soul to destroy with everlasting enmity,”

Because you have had everlasting enmity and have delivered the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of the punishment of the end,

I will make you an everlasting desolation and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
