'Priest's' in the Bible

"'No lay person may eat anything holy. Neither a priest's lodger nor a hired laborer may eat anything holy,

but if a priest buys a person with his own money, that person may eat the holy offerings, and those born in the priest's own house may eat his food.

If a priest's daughter marries a lay person, she may not eat the holy contribution offerings,

but if a priest's daughter is a widow or divorced, and she has no children so that she returns to live in her father's house as in her youth, she may eat from her father's food, but no lay person may eat it.

When it reverts in the jubilee, the field will be holy to the Lord like a permanently dedicated field; it will become the priest's property.

Now the priests would always treat the people in the following way: Whenever anyone was making a sacrifice, while the meat was boiling, the priest's attendant would come with a three-pronged fork in his hand.

Even before they burned the fat, the priest's attendant would come and say to the person who was making the sacrifice, "Hand over some meat for the priest to roast! He won't take boiled meat from you, but only raw."

Simon Peter and another disciple followed them as they brought Jesus to Annas. (Now the other disciple was acquainted with the high priest, and he went with Jesus into the high priest's courtyard.)

When Jesus had said this, one of the high priest's officers who stood nearby struck him on the face and said, "Is that the way you answer the high priest?"

One of the high priest's slaves, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, said, "Did I not see you in the orchard with him?"

Annas the high priest was there, and Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and others who were members of the high priest's family.
