'Punished' in the Bible
Why should you be stricken and punished again [since no change results from it]?You [only] continue to rebel.The whole head is sickAnd the whole heart is faint and sick.
But the Lord of hosts revealed Himself in my ears,“This sin absolutely will not be forgiven youUntil you die,” says the Lord God of hosts.
They will be gathered togetherlike prisoners in a pit.They will be confined to a dungeon;after many days they will be punished.
The dead won't live, and the departed spirits won't rise to that end, you punished and destroyed them, then locked away all memory of them.
From the Lord of hosts you will be punished with thunder and earthquake and loud noise,With whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a consuming fire.
But he lifted up our illnesses, he carried our pain; even though we thought he was being punished, attacked by God, and afflicted for something he had done.
We all went astray like sheep;we all have turned to our own way;and the Lord has punished Himfor the iniquity of us all.
Because of his wicked greed I was angry, so I punished him; and I hid my face, and was angry but he kept turning back to his stubborn will.
