'Roaring' in the Bible

Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother and came to the vineyards of Timnah. Suddenly a young lion came roaring at him,

Then there comes a roaring sound;God thunders with His majestic voice.He does not restrain the lightningwhen His rumbling voice is heard.

They open their mouths against me—lions, mauling and roaring.

A king’s terrible wrath is like the roaring of a lion;anyone who provokes him endangers himself.

A wicked ruler over a helpless peopleis like a roaring lion or a charging bear.

He devastated their strongholdsand destroyed their cities.The land and everything in it shudderedat the sound of his roaring.

The conspiracy of her prophets within her is like a roaring lion tearing its prey: they devour people, seize wealth and valuables, and multiply the widows within her.

The princes within her are roaring lions;her judges are wolves of the night,which leave nothing for the morning.
