'Roots' in the Bible

Its roots weave around a pile of stones, seeking to entrench itself among the rocks.

Even if its roots have grown ancient in the earth, and its stump begins to rot in the ground,

His roots wither underneath, while his branches above are being cut off.

"Using a flint, he thrusts his hand, overturning mountains by the roots.
