'Ruins' in the Bible

When a man lays hold of his brother in his father’s house, saying,“You have a cloak, you shall be our ruler,And these ruins will be under your charge,”

Desolation is left in the cityAnd the gate is battered to ruins.

Confirming the word of His servantAnd performing the purpose of His messengers.It is I who says of Jerusalem, ‘She shall be inhabited!’And of the cities of Judah, ‘They shall be built.’And I will raise up her ruins again.

“Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins;You will raise up the age-old foundations;And you will be called the repairer of the breach,The restorer of the streets in which to dwell.

Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins,They will raise up the former devastations;And they will repair the ruined cities,The desolations of many generations.
