'Ruthless' in the Bible
Learn to do good;Seek justice,Reprove the ruthless,Defend the orphan,Plead for the widow.
Thus I will punish the world for its evilAnd the wicked for their iniquity;I will also put an end to the arrogance of the proudAnd abase the haughtiness of the ruthless.
A harsh vision has been shown to me;The treacherous one deals treacherously, and the destroyer destroys.Go up, Elam! Lay siege, Media! All the groaning [caused by Babylon’s ruthless oppressions] I [the Lord] have brought to an end.
Therefore strong nations will glorify you; cities of ruthless nations will revere you.
For you have been a stronghold for the poor, a stronghold for the needy in distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat for the blistering attack from the ruthless is like a rainstorm beating against a wall,
Like heat in drought, You subdue the uproar of aliens;Like heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless is silenced.
Your many foes will be like fine dust, and many of the ruthless, like blowing chaff. Then suddenly, in an instant,
For the ruthless one will vanish, the scorner will disappear, and all those who lie in wait with evil intentwill be killed—
