'Selected' in the Bible

The plan seemed good to me, so I selected 12 men from among you, one man for each tribe.

But the Lord selected you and brought you out of Egypt’s iron furnace to be a people for His inheritance, as you are today.

Then Moses selected three cities in the Transjordan, toward the east.

He has selected the best part for himself, for the portion of the ruler is set aside there; he came with the leaders of the people, he obeyed the righteous laws of the Lord and his ordinances with Israel.
