'Son' in the Bible

When they arrived, they went to the room upstairs where they were staying:Peter, John,James, Andrew,Philip, Thomas,Bartholomew, Matthew,James the son of Alphaeus,Simon the Zealot,and Judas the son of James.

Joseph, a Levite and a Cypriot by birth, the one the apostles called Barnabas, which is translated Son of Encouragement,

and when he was left outside, Pharaoh’s daughter adopted and raised him as her own son.

“Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”

God has fulfilled this for us, their children, by raising up Jesus, as it is written in the second Psalm:You are My Son;today I have become Your Father.

Then he went on to Derbe and Lystra, where there was a disciple named Timothy, the son of a believing Jewish woman, but his father was a Greek.

He was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus from Asia.

When Paul realized that one part of them were Sadducees and the other part were Pharisees, he cried out in the Sanhedrin, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees! I am being judged because of the hope of the resurrection of the dead!”

But the son of Paul’s sister, hearing about their ambush, came and entered the barracks and reported it to Paul.
