'Sun' in the Bible
Indeed, the stars of the sky and its constellationswill not give their light.The sun will be dark when it rises,and the moon will not shine.
On that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear loyalty to the Lord of Hosts. One of the cities will be called the City of the Sun.
The moon will be put to shameand the sun disgraced,because the Lord of Hosts will reign as kingon Mount Zion in Jerusalem,and He will display His gloryin the presence of His elders.
so that all may know from the rising of the sun to its settingthat there is no one but Me.I am Yahweh, and there is no other.
They will not hunger or thirst,the scorching heat or sun will not strike them;for their compassionate One will guide them,and lead them to springs of water.
The sun will no longer be your light by day,and the brightness of the moon will not shine on you;but the Lord will be your everlasting light,and your God will be your splendor.
Your sun will no longer set,and your moon will not fade;for the Lord will be your everlasting light,and the days of your sorrow will be over.
