the moon and stars to rule by night, for his loving kindness [is] forever,

He appointed the moon for seasons. The sun knows his going down.

And when I shall extinguish thee, I will cover the heavens, and make the stars of it dark. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light.
