'Supplication' in the Bible
The Lord has heard my supplication [my plea for grace];The Lord receives my prayer.
Hear the voice of my supplication (specific requests, humble entreaties) as I cry to You for help,As I lift up my hands and heart toward Your innermost sanctuary (Holy of Holies).
I called to You, O Lord,And to the Lord I made supplication (specific request).
Listen to my prayer, O God,And do not hide Yourself from my plea.
O come, let us worship and bow down,Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker [in reverent praise and prayer].
And I shall lift up my hands to Your commandments,Which I love; And I will meditate on Your statutes.
Tav.Let my [mournful] cry come before You, O Lord;Give me understanding [the ability to learn and a teachable heart] according to Your word [of promise].
Let my supplication come before You;Deliver me according to Your word.
I cry aloud with my voice to the Lord;I make supplication with my voice to the Lord.
