'Water' in the Bible

“For my groaning comes at the sight of my food,And my cries pour out like water.

“He gives rain on the earthAnd sends water on the fields,

“Can the papyrus grow up without a marsh?Can the rushes grow without water?

At the scent of water it will flourishAnd put forth sprigs like a plant.

“As water evaporates from the sea,And a river becomes parched and dried up,

Water wears away stones,Its torrents wash away the dust of the earth;So You destroy man’s hope.

How much less one who is detestable and corrupt,Man, who drinks iniquity like water!

“To the weary you have given no water to drink,And from the hungry you have withheld bread.

Or darkness, so that you cannot see,And an abundance of water covers you.

“They are insignificant on the surface of the water;Their portion is cursed on the earth.They do not turn toward the vineyards.

“What man is like Job,Who drinks up derision like water,

“For He draws up the drops of water,They distill rain from the mist,

“Water becomes hard like stone,And the surface of the deep is imprisoned.

“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds,So that an abundance of water will cover you?

“Who can count the clouds by wisdom,Or tip the water jars of the heavens,
