'Weary' in the Bible
“I hate [the hypocrisy of] your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts.They have become a burden to Me;I am weary of bearing them.
No one among them is weary or stumbles,No one slumbers or sleeps;Nor is the belt at their waist undone [as if unprepared for action],Nor is the strap of their sandal broken.
Then Isaiah said, “Hear then, O house of David! Is it too small a thing for you to try the patience of men, but will you try the patience of my God as well?
He who said to them, “This is the place of quiet, give rest to the weary,”And, “This is the resting place,” yet they would not listen.
Each [one of them] will be like a hiding place from the windAnd a shelter from the storm,Like streams of water in a dry land,Like the shade of a huge rock in a parched and weary land [to those who turn to them].
“Like a swallow, like a crane, so I chirp;I coo like a dove.My eyes look wistfully upward;O Lord, I am oppressed, take my side and be my security.
Do you not know? Have you not heard?The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earthDoes not become tired or grow weary;There is no searching of His understanding.
He gives strength to the weary,And to him who has no might He increases power.
Even youths grow weary and tired,And vigorous young men stumble badly,
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him]Will gain new strength and renew their power;They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun];They will run and not become weary,They will walk and not grow tired.
“Yet you have not called on Me [in prayer and worship], O Jacob;But you have grown weary of Me, O Israel.
Bel has bowed down, Nebo stoops over;Their idols are on the beasts [of burden] and on the cattle.Your burdens [of idols] are loaded [on them],Burdens on the weary animals.
The Lord God has given Me [His Servant] the tongue of disciples [as One who is taught],That I may know how to sustain the weary with a word.He awakens Me morning by morning,He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple [as One who is taught].
