'Wickedness' in the Bible
Woe to those who drag wickednesswith cords of deceitand pull sin along with cart ropes,
He touched my mouth with it and said:Now that this has touched your lips, your wickedness is removedand your sin is atoned for.
For wickedness burns like a firethat consumes thorns and briersand kindles the forest thicketsso that they go up in a column of smoke.
You were secure in your wickedness;you said, ‘No one sees me.’Your wisdom and knowledgeled you astray. You said to yourself,‘I exist, and there is no one else.’
Isn’t the fast I choose:To break the chains of wickedness,to untie the ropes of the yoke,to set the oppressed free, and to tear off every yoke?
