Moses Sets Up The Tent

16 Thus Moses did; according to all that the LORD had commanded him, so he did.

16 Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.

16 Moses did everything that the LORD had commanded him, so he did.

16 Thus did Moses; according to all that the Lord commanded him, so he did.

17 Now in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, the tabernacle was erected.

17 And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.

17 And so in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, the tent was set up.

17 And on the first day of the first month in the second year the tabernacle was erected.

18 Moses erected the tabernacle and laid its sockets, and set up its boards, and inserted its bars and erected its pillars.

18 And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars.

18 Moses set up the tent. He installed its sockets and set its boards in place. He inserted its bars and set up its pillars.

18 Moses set up the tabernacle, laid its sockets, set up its boards, put in its bars, and erected its pillars.

19 He spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

19 And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the LORD commanded Moses.

19 He spread the tent over the tent and put the covering of the tent on top of it, just as the LORD had commanded him.

19 [Moses] spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent over it, as the Lord had commanded him.

20 Then he took the testimony and put it into the ark, and attached the poles to the ark, and put the mercy seat on top of the ark.

20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:

20 Then he took the Testimony, put it into the ark, and placed the poles on the ark. He then put the Mercy Seat on top of the ark.

20 He took the Testimony [the Ten Commandments] and put it into the ark, and set the poles [in the rings] on the ark, and put the mercy seat on top of the ark.

21 He brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up a veil for the screen, and screened off the ark of the testimony, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.

21 He brought the ark into the tent, set up the curtain, and screened off the Ark of the Testimony, just as the LORD had commanded him.

21 [Moses] brought the ark into the tabernacle and set up the veil of the screen and screened the ark of the Testimony, as the Lord had commanded him.

22 Then he put the table in the tent of meeting on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil.

22 And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the vail.

22 He put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the north side of the tent, outside the curtain,

22 Moses put the table [of showbread] in the Tent of Meeting on the north side of the tabernacle outside the veil;

23 He set the arrangement of bread in order on it before the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

23 And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had commanded Moses.

23 and properly arranged the bread on it in the LORD's presence, just as the LORD had commanded him.

23 He set the bread [of the Presence] in order on it before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded him.

24 Then he placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting, opposite the table, on the south side of the tabernacle.

24 And he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.

24 Then he put the lamp stand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table on the south side of the tent,

24 And he put the lampstand in the Tent of Meeting opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle.

25 He lighted the lamps before the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

25 And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.

25 and set up the lamps in the LORD's presence, just as the LORD had commanded him.

25 Moses set up and lighted the lamps before the Lord, as the Lord commanded him.

26 Then he placed the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the veil;

26 And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation before the vail:

26 He put the golden altar in the Tent of Meeting in front of the curtain

26 He put the golden altar [of incense] in the Tent of Meeting before the veil;

27 and he burned fragrant incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

27 And he burnt sweet incense thereon; as the LORD commanded Moses.

27 and burned aromatic incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

27 He burned sweet incense [symbol of prayer] upon it, as the Lord commanded him.

28 Then he set up the veil for the doorway of the tabernacle.

28 And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle.

28 He set up the screen for the doorway of the tent.

28 And he set up the hanging or screen at the door of the tabernacle.

29 He set the altar of burnt offering before the doorway of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and offered on it the burnt offering and the meal offering, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

29 And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; as the LORD commanded Moses.

29 He put the altar for burnt offerings at the doorway of the tent of the Tent of Meeting, and offered the burnt offering and the grain offering on it, just as the LORD had commanded him.

29 [Moses] put the altar of burnt offering at the door of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting and offered on it the burnt offering and the cereal offering, as the Lord commanded him.

30 He placed the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing.

30 And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put water there, to wash withal.

30 He put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it for washing.

30 And Moses set the laver between the Tent of Meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing.

31 From it Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet.

31 And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat:

31 Moses, Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and feet from it.

31 And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet there.

32 When they entered the tent of meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

32 When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed; as the LORD commanded Moses.

32 When they entered the Tent of Meeting and approached the altar, they washed, just as the LORD had commanded him.

32 When they went into the Tent of Meeting or came near the altar, they washed, as the Lord commanded Moses.

33 He erected the court all around the tabernacle and the altar, and hung up the veil for the gateway of the court. Thus Moses finished the work.

33 And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.

33 He set up the court all around the tent and the altar, and hung up the screen for the gate of the court. And so Moses finished the work.

33 And he erected the court round about the tabernacle and the altar and set up the hanging or screen at the court gate. So Moses finished the work.

The Lord Comes To The Tent

34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

34 The cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tent.

34 Then the cloud [the Shekinah, God's visible presence] covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle!

35 Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

35 Moses was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tent.

35 And Moses was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud remained upon it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

36 Throughout all their journeys whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out;

36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:

36 Whenever the cloud was lifted up from the tent, the Israelis would set out on their journey,

36 In all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the Israelites went onward;

37 but if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out until the day when it was taken up.

37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.

37 but if the cloud was not lifted up, they would not set out until it was lifted up,

37 But if the cloud was not taken up, they did not journey on till the day that it was taken up.

38 For throughout all their journeys, the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.

38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

38 since the cloud of the LORD was over the tent by day, and the fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel in all their journeys.

38 For throughout all their journeys the cloud of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.
