Numbers 8:12

Moses Consecrates The Levites

¹¹ Aaron is to present the Levites before the Lord as a presentation offering from the Israelites, so that they may perform the Lord’s work. ¹² Next the Levites are to lay their hands on the heads of the bulls. Sacrifice one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to the Lord, to make atonement for the Levites. ¹³ “You are to have the Levites stand before Aaron and his sons, and you are to present them before the Lord as a presentation offering.

Exodus 29:10

“You are to bring the bull to the front of the tent of meeting, and Aaron and his sons must lay their hands on the bull’s head.

Leviticus 1:4

He is to lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering so it can be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.

Leviticus 8:14

Then he brought the bull near for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the bull for the sin offering.

Numbers 8:8

“They are to take a young bull and its grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil, and you are to take a second young bull for a sin offering.

Leviticus 4:20

He is to offer this bull just as he did with the bull in the sin offering; he will offer it the same way. So the priest will make atonement on their behalf, and they will be forgiven.

Leviticus 4:35

He is to remove all its fat just as the fat of the lamb is removed from the fellowship sacrifice. The priest will burn it on the altar along with the fire offerings to the Lord. In this way the priest will make atonement on his behalf for the sin he has committed, and he will be forgiven.

Leviticus 5:9-10

Then he will sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar, while the rest of the blood is to be drained out at the base of the altar; it is a sin offering.

Leviticus 14:19-20

The priest must sacrifice the sin offering and make atonement for the one to be cleansed from his uncleanness. Afterward he will slaughter the burnt offering.

Aaron will lay both his hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the Israelites’ wrongdoings and rebellious acts—all their sins. He is to put them on the goat’s head and send it away into the wilderness by the man appointed for the task.

Hebrews 9:22

According to the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
