And He said to them, What man is there among you who has a sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will he not take hold of it and lift it out?

You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.

The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil.

For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.

The young man *said to Him, “All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?”

Then Peter said to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You; what then will there be for us?”

Take what is yours and go, but I wish to give to this last man the same as to you.

Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?’

And He said to her, What do you wish?” She *said to Him, “Command that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine may sit one on Your right and one on Your left.”

But Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They *said to Him, “We are able.”

And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, What do you want Me to do for you?”

and said to Him, “Do You hear what these children are saying?” And Jesus *said to them, “Yes; have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies You have prepared praise for Yourself’?”

And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen.

When He entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him while He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these things, and who gave You this authority?”

Jesus said to them, “I will also ask you one thing, which if you tell Me, I will also tell you by what authority I do these things.

The baptism of John was from what source, from heaven or from men?” And they began reasoning among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say to us, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’

And answering Jesus, they said, “We do not know.” He also said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

“But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go work today in the vineyard.’

Therefore when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-growers?”

Tell us then, what do You think? Is it lawful to give a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?”

But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God:

What do you think about the Christ, whose son is He?” They *said to Him, “The son of David.”

As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’

For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.

Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of in memory of her.”

and said, “What are you willing to give me to betray Him to you?” And they weighed out thirty pieces of silver to him.

And Jesus said to him, Friend, do what you have come for.” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and seized Him.

The high priest stood up and said to Him, “Do You not answer? What is it that these men are testifying against You?”

Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, you have now heard the blasphemy;

But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you are talking about.”

saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? See to that yourself!”

Pilate *said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all *said, “Crucify Him!”

And he said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they kept shouting all the more, saying, “Crucify Him!”
