Not one of you supplied [satisfactory] answers to his words.

And he hath not set in array words for me, And with your sayings I do not answer him.

I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.

Surely -- thou hast said in mine ears, And the sounds of words I hear:

You said, I am pure, without transgression; I am innocent, and no iniquity is in me;

He keepeth back his said from the pit, and his life from passing away by a weapon.


“Man is also disciplined with pain on his bed,
And with unceasing complaint in his bones,

His flesh is wasted away from sight, and his bones, [which] are invisible, are bared.

If there is an angel on his side,
one mediator out of a thousand,
to tell a person what is right for him

Then hath he shewed him favour, and said, Set him free from going down to the pit, I have found a price of redemption!

He sang before men, and said, I sinned, and, uprightness, I perverted, yet he requited me not;

For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.

Who set him in charge of the earth? Or who appointed him the whole world?

Who hath said to a king -- 'Worthless,' Unto princes -- 'Wicked?'

For he will not yet set upon man to go to God in judgment

Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,

I have said once, and even twice, what was in my mind, but I will not do so again.

Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,


“Will you really annul My judgment and set it aside as void?
Will you condemn Me [your God] that you may [appear to] be righteous and justified?

Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?

He will cause the deep to boil as a pot: he will set the sea as ointment


“[You said to me] ‘Who is this that darkens and obscures counsel [by words] without knowledge?’
Therefore [I now see] I have [rashly] uttered that which I did not understand,
Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.


‘Hear, please, and I will speak;
I will ask You, and You instruct [and answer] me.’

And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

And now, take seven oxen and seven sheep, and go to my servant Job, and give a burned offering for yourselves, and my servant Job will make prayer for you, that I may not send punishment on you; because you have not said what is right about me, as my servant Job has.

Then Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, went and did according as Jehovah had said unto them; and Jehovah accepted Job.

Then he whose seat is in the heavens will be laughing: the Lord will make sport of them.
