Then he spake this parable to the people: A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.

But the husbandmen seeing him, reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: Come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

And hearing it they said, God forbid. And he looked on them and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, this is become the head of the corner?

And Jesus answering said to them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage.

And he said, Of a truth I say to you, This poor widow hath cast in more than they all.

But wo to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days; for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath on this people.

Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

And he said to them, With desire have I desired to eat this passover with you, before I suffer.

And he took the cup and gave thanks and said, Take this and divide it among yourselves.

And they inquired among themselves, Which of them it was, that would do this?

For I say to you, That this which is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

But a certain maid seeing him as he sat by the light, and looking earnestly upon him, said, This man also was with him.

And Peter said, Man, I am not. And about one hour after, another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him, for he is a Galilean.

And they accused him saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cesar, saying, that he himself is Christ a king.

And he answering him said, Thou sayest. Then said Pilate to the chief priests and the multitude, I find no fault in this man.

But they were the more violent saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching through all Judea, beginning from Galilee, to this place.

and the people, Said to them, Ye have brought this man to me, as perverting the people; and behold, I having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man, touching the things whereof ye accuse him.

And they cried all at once saying, Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas:

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this person hath done nothing amiss.

This man going to Pilate, asked the body of Jesus.

and have crucified him, But we trusted that it had been he who should have redeemed Israel. And beside all this, to-day is the third day since these things were done.

And having spoken this, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem, to ask him, Who art thou?

This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man who is preferred before me; for he was before me.

And I knew him not, but he that sent me to baptize with water, he had said to me, On whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and abiding on him, this is he who baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?

The woman saith to him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

For thou hast had five husbands, and he whom thou now hast, is not thy husband: in this thou saidst truly.

Jesus saith to her, Woman, Believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with a woman. Yet none said, What seekest thou? Or, Why talkest thou with her?

This second miracle again Jesus wrought, being come out of Judea into Galilee.

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Marvel not at this: for the time is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

Then those men, having seen the miracle which Jesus did, said, Of a truth this is the prophet that was to come into the world.

Then said they to him, Lord, ever give us this bread. And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life.

And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then saith he, I came down from heaven?

The Jews then debated among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate manna, and died: he that eateth of this bread, shall live for ever.

Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured about this, said to them, Doth this offend you?

Go ye up to the feast; I go not up to this feast yet; because my time is not yet fully come.

Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?

And lo he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing to him. Do the rulers know indeed, that this is the Christ?

Howbeit, we know this man, whence he is: but when Christ cometh, none knoweth whence he is.

And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

What saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me? And where I am, ye cannot come?

This he spake of the Spirit, which they who believed on him were to receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Many of the people therefore hearing this discourse, said, Certainly this is the prophet.

The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

But this populace, who know not the law, are accursed.

They say to him, Master, this woman was taken actually committing adultery.

What therefore sayest t`ou? This they spoke tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooping down, wrote with his finger on the ground.

And he said to them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents, but that the works of God might be made manifest thro' him.

Then the neighbours and they who had seen him before, when he was blind, said, Is not this he who used to sit begging?

Some said, This is he: others, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
