His own iniquities shall take the wicked, And he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.



Know ye not, that to whom ye present yourselves as'servants unto obedience, his servants ye are whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?





Moreover he must have good testimony from them that are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.


For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts,

but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.






Since then the children are sharers in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same; that through death he might bring to nought him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and might deliver all them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.





Put them in mind to be in subjection to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready unto every good work, to speak evil of no man, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness toward all men.

And the Lord's servant must not strive, but be gentle towards all, apt to teach, forbearing, in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth, and they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him unto his will.
