For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

For the poor ye have always with you; but me ye have not always.

For the poor will never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt surely open thy hand unto thy brother, to thy needy, and to thy poor, in thy land.

All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee, Who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, Yea, the poor and the needy from him that robbeth him?

Thy congregation dwelt therein: Thou, O God, didst prepare of thy goodness for the poor.

Howbeit there shall be no poor with thee; (for Jehovah will surely bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it;) if only thou diligently hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all this commandment which I command thee this day.

So the poor hath hope, And iniquity stoppeth her mouth.

Ye put to shame the counsel of the poor, Because Jehovah is his refuge.

I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And justice for the needy.

But if he be poorer than thy estimation, then he shall be set before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to the ability of him that vowed shall the priest value him.
