Now [when] he had said these [things], one of the officers who was standing by gave a slap in the face to Jesus, saying, "Do you reply to the high priest in this way?" Jesus replied to him, "If I have spoken wrongly, testify about what [is] wrong! But if [I have spoken] correctly, why do you strike me?"
Jesus said these [things], and lifting up his eyes to heaven he said, "Father, the hour has come! Glorify your Son, in order that your Son may glorify you-- just as you have given him authority over all flesh, in order that he would give eternal life to them--everyone whom you have given him. I have glorified you on earth [by] completing the work that you have given me {to do}. And Yahweh said to me, 'They are right [in] what they have said. For [the one] whom God sent speaks the words of God, for he does not give the Spirit by measure. The Father loves the Son and has given all [things] into his hand.
So they began to say to him, "Who are you?" Jesus said to them, "{What} I have been saying to you [from] the beginning. I have many [things] to say and to judge concerning you, but the one who sent me is true, and [the things] which I heard from him, these [things] I say to the world." Then Jesus said, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will recognize that I am [he], and I do nothing from myself, but just as the Father taught me, I say these [things]. And the one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, because I always do the things that are pleasing to him."

But when they believed Philip [as he] was proclaiming the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were being baptized.
But he said to them, "It is necessary [for] me to proclaim the good news [of] the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because I was sent for this [purpose].
And after John {had been taken into custody}, Jesus went into Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God
And it happened that {afterward} also he was going about from [one] town and village [to another] preaching and proclaiming the good news concerning the kingdom of God, and the twelve [were] with him,
"The law and the prophets [were] until John; from that time [on] the kingdom of God has been proclaimed, and everyone is urgently pressed into it.
And [when they] had set a day with him, many more came to him at his lodging place, to whom he was explaining from early in the morning until evening, testifying about the kingdom of God and attempting to convince them about Jesus from both the law of Moses and the prophets.

And [when he] realized [this], he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John (who is also called Mark), where many [people] were gathered together and were praying.

And on the first [day] of the week, [when] we had assembled to break bread, Paul began conversing with them, [because he] was going to leave on the next day, and he extended [his] message until midnight. Now there were quite a few lamps in the upstairs room where we were gathered. And a certain young man {named} Eutychus who was sitting in the window was sinking into a deep sleep [while] Paul was conversing at length. Being overcome by sleep, he fell down from the third story and was picked up dead.
