They shall build the long rough wildernesses, and set up the old desert. They shall repair the waste places, and such as have been void throughout many generations. Strangers shall stand and feed your cattle, and the Aliens shall be your plowmen and reapers. But ye shall be named the priests of the LORD, and men shall call you the servants of our God. And say thou unto them, Thus sayeth the LORD God of Israel: Cursed be every one that is not obedient unto the words of this covenant which I commanded unto your fathers; what time as I brought them out of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Be obedient unto my voice, and do according to all that I commanded you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God, and will keep my promise, that I have sworn unto your fathers: Namely, that I would give them a land which floweth with milk and honey, as ye see it is come to pass unto this day." and am come down to deliver them out of the hands of the Egyptians, and to bring them out of that land unto a good land and a large, and unto a land that floweth with milk and honey: even unto the place of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and of the Jebusites.

And I have said it, that I will bring you out of the tribulation of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites: even a land that floweth with milk and honey.'

Thou shalt suck the milk of the Gentiles, and kings' breasts shall feed thee. And thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and defender, the mighty one of Jacob.

that thou mayest go in to a land that floweth with milk and honey. But I will not go among you myself, for ye are a stiffnecked people: lest I consume you by the way."

And at that day the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall run with water. And a fountain shall go out of the house of the LORD and water the river of Shittim.

Look down from thy holy habitation heaven and bless thy people Israel and the land which thou hast given us - as thou swearest unto our fathers - a land that floweth with milk and honey.'

even in the day that I lift up mine hand over them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt, into a land that I have provided for them, which floweth with milk and honey, and it is a pleasant land among all others:

When the LORD hath brought thee in to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites and Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers that he would give thee: a land wherein milk and honey floweth, then see that thou keep this service in this same month.

For when as concerning the time, ye ought to be teachers, yet have ye need again that we teach you the first principles of the word of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat: For every man that is fed with milk is inexpert in the word of righteousness: For he is but a babe.


And to perform the oath, which he sware to our father Abraham, for to give us.

For when God made promise to Abraham, because he had no greater thing to swear by, he sware by himself, saying, "Surely I will bless thee, and multiply thee indeed."

Therefore I said unto them in my wrath, that they should not enter into my rest.

The LORD of Hosts hath sworn by himself that he will overwhelm thee with men, like grasshoppers in number, which with courage shall cry 'Alarum, Alarum' against thee.

To whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but unto them that believed not?

The LORD of Hosts hath sworn an oath, saying: It shall come to pass as I have determined, and shall be fulfilled as I have devised.

For why? I have sworn by myself, sayeth the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a wilderness; an open shame; a laughingstock and cursing; and her cities shall be a continual desert.

For the law maketh men priests, which have infirmity: but the word of the oath that came since the law, maketh the son priest, which is perfect for evermore.


saying, "By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, because thou hast done this thing and hast not spared thy only son,

I have sworn once by my holiness, that I will not fail David.

even the covenant that he made with Abraham, and the oath that he sware unto Isaac,

But we which have believed, do enter into his rest, as contrariwise he said to the other, "As I have sworn in my wrath, 'They shall not enter into my rest.'" And that spake he verily long after that the works were made, and the foundation of the world laid.

The LORD hath made a faithful oath unto David, and he shall not shrink from it, "Of the fruit of the body shall I set upon thy seat.

so that I sware in my wrath, that they should not enter into my rest."

and swore by him that liveth forevermore, which created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which therein are; that there should be no longer time:

I swear by myself: out of my mouth cometh the word of righteousness, and that may no man turn: but all knees shall bow unto me, and all tongues shall swear by me,

But if ye will not be obedient unto these commandments, I swear by mine own self, sayeth the LORD, this house shall be waste.

Those priests were made without an oath: but this priest with an oath, by him that said unto him, "The Lord sware, and will not repent: Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek."
