As for me, I will preach the law, whereof the LORD hath said unto me, "Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee.

He shall be great, and shall be called the son of the highest. And the Lord God shall give unto him the seat of his father David:

Moreover, I will put hatred between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed. And that seed shall tread thee on the head, and thou shalt tread it on the heel."

But when the time was full come, God sent his son - born of a woman, and made bond unto the law -

Moreover, I will make my covenant between me, and thee, and thy seed after thee; in their times to be an everlasting testament, so that I will be God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because thou hast obeyed my voice."

To Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, "in the seeds," as in many: But, "in thy seed," as in one, which is Christ.

Then the LORD said unto Abraham, "Let it not be grievous unto thee, because of the lad and of thy bondmaid: But in all that Sara hath said unto thee, hear her voice, for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

By faith Abraham offered up Isaac, when he was tempted, and he offered him being his only begotten son, which had received the promises: Of whom it was said, "In Isaac shall thy seed be called." For he considered that God was able to raise up again from death. Wherefore received he him, for an example of the resurrection.

The LORD hath made a faithful oath unto David, and he shall not shrink from it, "Of the fruit of the body shall I set upon thy seat.

And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the honour, and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

that make mention of his son, the which was begotten unto him of the seed of David, as pertaining to the flesh:

The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a ruler from between his legs, until Shiloh come, unto whom the people shall hearken.

Seventy weeks are determined over thy people, and over the holy city: that the wickedness may be consumed, that the sin may have an end, that the offense may be reconciled, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, to fulfill the visions and the Prophets, and to anoint the most holy one. Understand this then, and mark it well: That from the time it shall be concluded to go and repair Jerusalem again, unto Christ, the anointed Prince: there shall be seven weeks.Then shall the streets and walls be builded again sixty two weeks, but with hard troublous time.

And it chanced, in those days, that there went out a commandment from Augustus the Emperor, that all the world should be taxed.

Neverthelater, yet the Lord, he will give you a sign. Behold: a virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

The birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came to dwell together, she was found with child by the holy ghost.

And she brought forth her first begotten son. And wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them within, in the inn.

All this was done, to fulfill that which was spoken of the Lord by the Prophet saying, "Behold, a maiden shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is by interpretation, God with us."

And thou Bethlehem Ephrata, art little among the thousands of Judah: Out of thee shall come one, unto me, which shall be the governour in Israel: whose outgoing hath been from the beginning, and from everlasting.

When Jesus was born at Bethlehem in Jewry in the time of Herod the king, Behold, there came wise men from the East to Jerusalem,

And Joseph also ascended from Galilee, out of a city called Nazareth, into Jewry: unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem: because he was of the house and lineage of David: to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, which was with child. And it fortuned while they were there, her time was come that she should be delivered.

The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall give presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall bring gifts.

When Jesus was born at Bethlehem in Jewry in the time of Herod the king, Behold, there came wise men from the East to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is he that is born King of the Jews? And he gathered all the chief Priests and Scribes of the people, and asked of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, "In Bethlehem in Jewry; for thus it is written by the Prophet, 'And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Jewry, art not the least concerning the Princes of Judah: For out of thee shall come the captain, that shall govern my people Israel.'" Then Herod privily called the wise men, and diligently enquired of them the time of the star that appeared, and sent them to Bethlehem, saying, "Go and search diligently for the child. And when ye have found him, bring me word, that I may come and worship him also." When they had heard the king, they departed; And, lo, the star, which they saw in the East, went before them, till it came and stood over the place where the child was. When they saw the star they were marvelously glad; and went into the house, and found the child with Mary his mother, and knelt down, and worshipped him: and opened their treasures, and offered unto him gifts; gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Thus sayeth the LORD, "The voice of heaviness, weeping and lamentation was heard on the hills; even of Rachel mourning for her children, and would not be comforted, because they were not."

Then Herod, perceiving that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, as many as were two years old and under according to the time which he had diligently searched out of the wise men. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by the Prophet Jeremiah, saying, "On the hills was a voice heard, mourning, weeping and great lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they were not."

When Israel was young, I loved him: and called my son out of the land of Egypt.

and was there unto the death of Herod: to fulfill that which was spoken of the Lord by the Prophet, which sayeth, "Out of Egypt have I called my son."

A voice crieth in the wilderness, "Prepare the way for the LORD, make straight the path for our God in the desert.

Behold, I send my messenger which shall prepare the way before me. And suddenly shall the Lord whom ye seek, come unto his temple, and the messenger of the covenant whom ye desire. Behold, he cometh saith the LORD Sabaoth.

In those days John the Baptist came, and preached in the wilderness of Jewry,

And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the unbelievers to the wisdom of the just men: to make the people ready for the Lord."

Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; wherefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

And on him shall light the spirit of the LORD: the spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the spirit of counsel and of strength, the spirit of knowledge and of reverence, and it shall make him savour of the fear of the LORD

The spirit of the LORD God is with me, for the LORD hath anointed me, and sent me to preach good tidings unto the poor: that I might bind up the wounded hearts, that I might preach deliverance to the captive, and open the prison to them that are bound;

And Jesus, as soon as he was baptized, came straight out of the water: And, lo, heaven was opened over him, and John saw the spirit of God descend, like a dove, and light upon him:

For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God. For God giveth not the spirit by measure.

How God had anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the holy ghost, and with power; which Jesus went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devils, for God was with him.

The LORD thy God will stir up a Prophet among you: even of thy brethren, like unto me, and unto him ye shall hearken according to all that thou desiredest of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day when the people were gathered, saying, 'Let me hear the voice of my LORD God no more, nor see this great fire any more, that I die not.' And the LORD said unto me, 'They have well spoken;read more.
I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren like unto thee and will put my words into his mouth and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

and when God shall send him, which before was preached unto you, that is, to wit, Jesus Christ: which must receive heaven until the time that all things which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began, be restored again. For Moses said unto the fathers, 'A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you, even of your brethren, like unto me: him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

The LORD sware, and will not repent, "Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek."

Yea, even he shall build up the temple of the LORD. He shall bear the praise, he shall sit upon the LORD's throne, and have the domination. A priest shall he be also upon his throne, and a peaceable counsel shall be betwixt them both.

Even so, likewise, Christ glorified not himself, to be made the high priest: but he that said unto him. "Thou art my son, this day begat I thee." As he also in another place speaketh, "Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek."

The spirit of the LORD God is with me, for the LORD hath anointed me, and sent me to preach good tidings unto the poor: that I might bind up the wounded hearts, that I might preach deliverance to the captive, and open the prison to them that are bound; That I might declare the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of the vengeance of our God; that I might comfort all them that are in heaviness.

And he came to Nazareth where he was nursed, and as his custom was, went into the synagogue on the Sabbath days, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the book, he found the place, where it was written, "The spirit of the Lord upon me, because he hath anointed me; To preach the gospel to the poor he hath sent me; And to heal which are broken hearted: To preach deliverance to the captive; And sight to the blind; And freely to set at liberty them that are bruised;read more.
And to preach the acceptable year of the Lord." And he closed the book, and gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all that were in the synagogue, were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."

Even like as in time past it hath been well seen, that the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, wherethrough the sea way goeth over Jordan in to the land of Galilee, was at the first in little trouble, but afterward sore vexed. The people that have dwelt in darkness, shall see a great light. As for them that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them shall the light shine.

When Jesus had heard that John was taken, he departed into Galilee; and left Nazareth, and went and dwelt in Capernaum, which is a city upon the sea in the coasts of Zebulun and Naphtali: to fulfill that which was spoken by Isaiah the Prophet, saying,read more.
"The land of Zebulun and Naphtali, the way of the sea beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; the people which sat in darkness saw great light and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light has begun to shine."

Rejoice thou greatly, O daughter Zion; be glad, O daughter Jerusalem. For lo, thy King cometh unto thee, even the righteous and Saviour: Lowly and simple is he, he rideth upon an ass, and upon the foal of an ass.

When they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethpage, unto mount Olivet, then sent Jesus two of his disciples, saying to them, "Go into the town that lieth over against you, and anon ye shall find an ass bound, and her colt with her: loose them and bring them unto me. And if any man say ought unto you, say ye that your master hath need of them; and straight way he will let them go."read more.
All this was done, to fulfill that which was spoken by the prophet, saying, "Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass used to the yoke."

Yea, I will move all Heathen, and the comfort of all Heathen shall come, and so will I fill this house with honour, sayeth the LORD of Hosts.

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that bought and sold in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves.

And he came by inspiration into the temple. And when the father and mother brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, then took he him up in his arms and said, "Lord, Now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy promise.read more.
For mine eyes have seen the saviour sent from thee: Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people. A light to lighten the gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel."

And the Jews' Easter was even at hand; And Jesus went up to Jerusalem, and found sitting in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep, and doves, and changers of money sitting. And he made a scourge of small cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen, and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables.read more.
And said unto them that sold doves, "Have these things hence, and make not my father's house a house of merchandise."

He came up as a spray before him, and as a root out of a dry land. There was neither fashion or beauty on him. And when we looked on him, there was no godliness that we should lust after him.

Is not this that carpenter: Mary's son, the brother of James, and Joseph and of Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?" And they were offended by the reason of him.

Jesus said unto him, "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests: but the son of man hath not whereon to lay his head."

He shall not be an out-crier, nor a high-minded person. His voice shall not be heard in the streets.

When Jesus knew that, he departed thence. And much people followed him, and he healed them all; and charged them, that they should not make him known:

He shall feed his flock like a herdsman. He shall gather the lambs together with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall kindly entreat those that bear young.

A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: but faithfully and truly shall he give judgment.

When Jesus knew that, he departed thence. And much people followed him, and he healed them all;

For we have not a high priest, which cannot have compassion on our infirmities: but was in all points tempted, as we are: but yet without sin.

He put his sepulchre with the wicked, and with the rich in his death: because he did none iniquity, neither was guile found in his mouth.

which did no sin, neither was there guile found in his mouth:

For the zeal of thine house hath even eaten me; and the rebukes of them that rebuked thee is fallen upon me.

And his disciples remembered, how that it was written, "The zeal of thine house, hath even eaten me."

I will open my mouth in similitudes, and will speak forth things which have been kept secret from the beginning of the world;

All these things spake Jesus unto the people by similitudes, and with out similitudes spake he nothing to them, to fulfill that which was spoken by the prophet saying, "I will open my mouth in similitudes, and will speak forth things which have been kept secret from the beginning of the world."

Then shall the eyes of the blind be lightened, and the ears of the deaf opened. Then shall the lame man leap as a hart and the dumb man's tongue shall give thanks. In the wilderness also, there shall wells spring, and floods of water in the desert.

Jesus answered and said unto them, "Go and show John what ye have heard and seen: The blind see, the halt go, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are risen again, and the glad tidings is preached to the poor. And blessed is he that is not offended by me."

Then gathered the high priests and the Pharisees a council and said, "What do we? This man doeth many miracles.

But as for me, I am a worm and no man: a very scorn of men and the outcast of the people.

And why? For thy sake have I suffered reproof; shame hath covered my face.

For Christ pleased not himself: but as it is written, "The rebukes of them which rebuked thee, fell on me."

I am become a stranger unto my brethren, even an alien unto my mother's children.

He was despised and cast out of men's company; and one that had suffered sorrow, and had experience of infirmity. And we were as one that had hid his face from him.

He came among his own, and his own received him not.

For as yet his brethren believed not in him.

For he is the sanctifying, and stone to stumble at, the rock to fall upon, a snare and net to both the houses: to Israel, and the inhabiters of Jerusalem.

And wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith: but as it were, by the works of the law. For they have stumbled at the stumbling stone.

and a stone to stumble at, and a rock to offend them which stumble at the word, and believe not that whereon they were set.

They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they that are mine enemies, and would destroy me guiltless, are mighty. I paid them the things that I never took.

Moreover, thus sayeth the LORD the avenger and holy one of Israel, because of the abhorring and despising among the Gentiles, concerning the servant of all them that bear rule: Kings and Princes shall see, and arise and worship, because of the LORD that he is faithful: and because of the holy one of Israel, which hath chosen thee.

If I had not done works among them which none other man did, they had not had sin. But now have they seen, and yet have hated both me and my father: Even that the saying might be fulfilled that is written in their law, 'They hated me without a cause.'

The same stone which the builders refused, is become the headstone in the corner.

Jesus said unto them, "Did ye never read in the scriptures? 'The same stone which the builders refused, the same is set in the principal part of the corner: this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.'

Doth any of the rulers, or of the Pharisees, believe on him?

W hy did the heathen rage and the people imagine vain things? The kings of the earth stood up and the rulers came together against the LORD, and against his Christ.

And the same day, Pilate and Herod were made friends together. For before, they were at variance.

For of a truth, against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod and also Pontius Pilate with the gentiles, and the people of Israel, gathered themselves together:

Yea, even mine own familiar friend, whom I trusted, who did also eat my bread, hath lift up his heel against me.

If it were mine enemy that reviled me, I could bear it: or if one that ought me evil will did threaten me, I would hide myself from him. But it was even thou, my companion, my guide, and mine own familiar friend. We took sweet counsel together, and walked in the house of God as friends.

"I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: But that the scripture be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

"Arise, O thou sword, upon my shepherd, and upon the prince of my people, sayeth the LORD of Hosts: Smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered abroad, and so will I turn mine hand to the little ones.

Then said Jesus unto them, "All ye shall be offended by me this night. For it is written, 'I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.'

And I said unto them, "If ye think it good, bring hither my price: if no, then leave." So they weighed down thirty silver pens, the value that I was prized at.

and said, "What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you?" And they appointed unto him thirty pieces of silver.

And the LORD said unto me, "Cast it unto the potter" - a goodly price for me to be valued at of them. And I took the thirty silver pens, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

And they took counsel, and bought with them a potter's field to bury strangers in.

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart also in the midst of my body is even like melting wax. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaveth to my gums, and thou shalt bring me into the dust of death.

saying, "Father if thou wilt, withdraw this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will; But thine be fulfilled."
