Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

Now as He was yet discoursing to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, and desired to speak to Him:

So his brethren and his mother came, and standing without sent to Him to call Him to them:

After this He went down to Capernaum, He and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: but they staid there not many days.

his brethren therefore said, Depart from hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples there also may see the works which thou performest.

Our fathers worshipped on this mountain, and ye say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

Now his parents went every year to Jerusalem at the feast of the passover:

After these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

saying, I must by all means keep the approaching feast at Jerusalem; but I will return to you again, God willing. So he sailed from Ephesus;

And among those that came up to worship at the feast there were certain Greeks:

After these things Jesus resided in Galilee: for He would not appear in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him. Now the Jews feast called the feast of tabernacles was near; his brethren therefore said, Depart from hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples there also may see the works which thou performest. read more.
For no man doth any thing in secret, who is himself desirous to be known in public. As thou dost these wonderful things, make thyself known to the world. For neither did his brethren believe in Him. Then saith Jesus unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always alike ready; for the world cannot hate you: but me it hates, because I bear my testimony concerning it, that it's deeds are evil. Go ye up to this feast as soon as ye please; for I am not yet going up to it, because my time is not yet fully come. And after He had said these things unto them, He stayed a while in Galilee. But when his brethren were gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not in a public manner but as it were in private. The Jews therefore sought for Him at the feast, and said, Where is He? And there was much murmuring among the people concerning Him: for some said, He is a good man; others said, No: He deceiveth the people. No one however spake openly in favor of Him, for fear of the Jews. But when it was now about the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.

But He turned and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what spirit ye are of: for the Son of man came not to destroy mens lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. And as they were going by the way, there was one said to Him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest: and Jesus answered him, The foxes have holes, and the fowls of heaven their nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. And He said to another, Follow me: but he said, Lord, permit me to go first and bury my father: but Jesus said unto him, Leave the dead to bury their dead; but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee, but allow me first to go and take my leave of my family. But Jesus said unto him, No one, that hath put his hand to the plough and looketh back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
