But he was merciful: he forgave the iniquity, and destroyed them not; but many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his fury:



Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.



And he said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, which is interpreted, Sent. He went therefore and washed, and came seeing.

But Jesus, moved with compassion, having stretched out his hand, touched him, and says to him, I will, be thou cleansed.

And seeing them he said to them, Go, shew yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass as they were going they were cleansed.


And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith has healed thee; go in peace, and be well of thy scourge.

And he said to her, Because of this word, go thy way, the demon is gone out of thy daughter.

And Jesus said to him, Go, thy faith has healed thee. And he saw immediately, and followed him in the way.

And they who had been sent returning to the house found the bondman, who was ill, in good health.

But already, as he was going down, his servants met him and brought him word saying, Thy child lives.

This man heard Paul speaking, who, fixing his eyes on him, and seeing that he had faith to be healed,


And behold, they brought to him a paralytic, laid upon a bed; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, Be of good courage, child; thy sins are forgiven.



But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then he says to the paralytic,) Rise up, take up thy bed and go to thy house.

And Jesus, seeing their thoughts, said, Why do ye think evil things in your hearts? For which is easier: to say, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Rise up and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then he says to the paralytic,) Rise up, take up thy bed and go to thy house. And he rose up and went to his house. But the crowds seeing it, were in fear, and glorified God who gave such power to men.

And he entered again into Capernaum after several days, and it was reported that he was at the house; and straightway many were gathered together, so that there was no longer any room, not even at the door; and he spoke the word to them. And there come to him men bringing a paralytic, borne by four; read more.
and, not being able to get near to him on account of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was, and having dug it up they let down the couch on which the paralytic lay. But Jesus, seeing their faith, says to the paralytic, Child, thy sins are forgiven thee. But certain of the scribes were there sitting, and reasoning in their hearts, Why does this man thus speak? he blasphemes. Who is able to forgive sins except God alone? And straightway Jesus, knowing in his spirit that they are reasoning thus within themselves, said to them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy couch and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, he says to the paralytic, To thee I say, Arise, take up thy couch and go to thine house. And he rose up straightway, and, having taken up his couch, went out before them all, so that all were amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it thus.

And it came to pass on one of the days, that he was teaching, and there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and out of Jerusalem; and the Lord's power was there to heal them. And lo, men bringing upon a couch a man who was paralysed; and they sought to bring him in, and put him before him. And not finding what way to bring him in, on account of the crowd, going up on the housetop they let him down through the tiles, with his little couch, into the midst before Jesus. read more.

Who is able to forgive sins but God alone? But Jesus, knowing their reasonings, answering said to them, Why reason ye in your hearts? which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?
