If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. If a thief shall be found breaking through, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. If the theft shall be certainly found in his hand alive, whether an ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.

Or if it shall be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not restrained him; he shall surely pay ox for ox, and the dead shall be his own.

Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took by force, or the thing which he obtained by deceit, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,

And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.


Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

And thy eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

Then Pashur struck Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD.

Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

And Adoni-bezek said, seventy kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their food under my table; as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.
