Abraham believed God and Jehovah considered his faith as his righteousness. (Genesis 15:6) You know that those who have faith are sons of Abraham. The Scripture revealed ahead of time, that God justified the people of the nations by faith. He preached the good news beforehand to Abraham. So then those who have faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar. They confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Those who say such things declare that they are seeking a country of their own. If indeed they had been thinking of that country from which they came, they would have had opportunity to return.read more.
They desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Because of this, God is not ashamed to be called their God. He has prepared a city for them!

If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask of God. He gives to all generously and without reproach and it will be given to him. However he must ask in faith, not doubting: for he who doubts is like a surging wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed. Do not let that man think that he will receive anything from God.
