But Abel brought some of the firstborn of his flock -- even the fattest of them. And the Lord was pleased with Abel and his offering,
By faith Abel offered God a greater sacrifice than Cain, and through his faith he was commended as righteous, because God commended him for his offerings. And through his faith he still speaks, though he is dead.
God said, "Take your son -- your only son, whom you love, Isaac -- and go to the land of Moriah! Offer him up there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will indicate to you."
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. He had received the promises, yet he was ready to offer up his only son.
and he reasoned that God could even raise him from the dead, and in a sense he received him back from there.
Your lamb must be perfect, a male, one year old; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats.
This is how you are to eat it -- dressed to travel, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. You are to eat it in haste. It is the Lord's Passover.
This day will become a memorial for you, and you will celebrate it as a festival to the Lord -- you will celebrate it perpetually as a lasting ordinance.
Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch of dough -- you are, in fact, without yeast. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Indeed according to the law almost everything was purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
