And she bore a male child, who is about to rule all nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God, and to his throne.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that every one believing in him may not perish but have eternal life.

The birth of Christ was thus. His mother Mary having been espoused to Joseph, before they came together, was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. and she shall bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins. But all this was done, that the word of the Lord might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying; Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel; which is interpreted, God is with us. And when Joseph awoke from his sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took his wife, and knew her not till she bore a son, and he called his name Jesus.

but when the fullness of time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, that he might redeem those under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

And the Word became flesh and tabernacled with us and we beheld his glory, a glory as of an only child with a father, full of grace and truth.
