Look, my earlier predictive oracles have come to pass; now I announce new events. Before they begin to occur, I reveal them to you."

this man, who was handed over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you executed by nailing him to a cross at the hands of Gentiles.

And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose, because those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.

From Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those temporarily residing abroad (in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, the province of Asia, and Bithynia) who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father by being set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling with Jesus Christ's blood. But the things God foretold long ago through all the prophets -- that his Christ would suffer -- he has fulfilled in this way.

God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew! Do you not know what the scripture says about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?

For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished in his sight in love.

how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first communicated through the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him,

The one who believes in him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

and by which you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message I preached to you -- unless you believed in vain.

Now because we are fellow workers, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For he says, "I heard you at the acceptable time, and in the day of salvation I helped you." Look, now is the acceptable time; look, now is the day of salvation!

For you can be confident of this one thing: that no person who is immoral, impure, or greedy (such a person is an idolater) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let nobody deceive you with empty words, for because of these things God's wrath comes on the sons of disobedience.

See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has an evil, unbelieving heart that forsakes the living God.

But so that we don't offend them, go to the lake and throw out a hook. Take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth, you will find a four drachma coin. Take that and give it to them for me and you."

Then Jesus said to them, "This night you will all fall away because of me, for it is written: 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.' But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee." Peter said to him, "If they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away!"read more.
Jesus said to him, "I tell you the truth, on this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times."

Then Jesus said to them, "You will all fall away, for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.' But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee." Peter said to him, "Even if they all fall away, I will not!"read more.
Jesus said to him, "I tell you the truth, today -- this very night -- before a rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times."

Jesus replied, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know me."

Just before the Passover feast, Jesus knew that his time had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now loved them to the very end.

He said, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The Teacher says, "My time is near. I will observe the Passover with my disciples at your house."'"

Then Jesus began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and experts in the law, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is finished!

For I tell you that this scripture must be fulfilled in me, 'And he was counted with the transgressors.' For what is written about me is being fulfilled."

Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

Then Jesus said, "I will be with you for only a little while longer, and then I am going to the one who sent me.

(For Jesus knew the one who was going to betray him. For this reason he said, "Not every one of you is clean.")

You heard me say to you, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory I had with you before the world was created.

Then Jesus, because he knew everything that was going to happen to him, came and asked them, "Who are you looking for?"

After this Jesus, realizing that by this time everything was completed, said (in order to fulfill the scripture), "I am thirsty!"

For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.

Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man arriving on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Then everyone will see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds with great power and glory. Then he will send angels and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.

"When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

For if anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."

For whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

Wasn't it necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and enter into his glory?"
