Listen, Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!

Jesus answered, "The most important is: 'Listen, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.

With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that "an idol in this world is nothing," and that "there is no God but one."

Now an intermediary is not for one party alone, but God is one.

one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

For there is one God and one intermediary between God and humanity, Christ Jesus, himself human,

You believe that God is one; well and good. Even the demons believe that -- and tremble with fear.

so that through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.

according to the foreknowledge of God the Father by being set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling with Jesus Christ's blood. May grace and peace be yours in full measure!

The Father and I are one."

But it is God who establishes us together with you in Christ and who anointed us, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment.

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

The Lord passed by before him and proclaimed: "The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness, keeping loyal love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. But he by no means leaves the guilty unpunished, responding to the transgression of fathers by dealing with children and children's children, to the third and fourth generation."

I will become his father and he will become my son. When he sins, I will correct him with the rod of men and with wounds inflicted by human beings. But my loyal love will not be removed from him as I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.

The Lord does what is fair, and executes justice for all the oppressed. The Lord revealed his faithful acts to Moses, his deeds to the Israelites. The Lord is compassionate and merciful; he is patient and demonstrates great loyal love.

God publicly displayed him at his death as the mercy seat accessible through faith. This was to demonstrate his righteousness, because God in his forbearance had passed over the sins previously committed. This was also to demonstrate his righteousness in the present time, so that he would be just and the justifier of the one who lives because of Jesus' faithfulness.
