And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.
And at the same time they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle, but tattlers also, and busy-bodies, speaking things which they ought not.
But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evil-doer, or as a busy-body in other men's matters.
The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore withdraw from contention, before it be meddled with.
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Better is a handful with quietness, than both the hands full with toil and vexation of spirit.
