Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the deportment of the wives; While they behold your chaste manner of life coupled with fear. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation by which ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love;

But thou, O man of God, flee from these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye who are spiritual, restore such one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evil-doers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good deportment in Christ.

But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:

Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness to all men.

And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
