Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them who are in any trouble by the consolation with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thy hand to do it.
But he who hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou shouldst bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou shouldst cover him; and that thou shouldst not hide thyself from thy own flesh?

If there shall be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD the God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thy heart, nor shut thy hand from thy poor brother:
And I entreat thee also, true yoke-fellow, help those women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow-laborers, whose names are in the book of life.
I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no delay, O my God.
Well reported of for good works; if she hath brought up children, if she hath lodged strangers, if she hath washed the saints' feet, if she hath relieved the afflicted, if she hath diligently followed every good work.
He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace will be with you.
